Sales commission calculation software

Driven pulls straight from your CRM, computes each payout the moment a deal moves, and shows every rep the maths behind their number.
AUTOMATE THE CALCULATION

Calculate commissions right, the first time

Commission calculation shouldn't mean rebuilding a spreadsheet every cycle. Driven calculates from live CRM data, keeps the maths deterministic, and lets anyone trace how a payout was reached.
Stop calculating commissions by hand

For most teams the calculation still happens in a fragile spreadsheet, weeks or months after the deal closes. Driven connects to your CRM and calculates every rep's commission automatically, so the payout is ready when the period closes instead of a weekend of manual work.

Driven plan builder: a compensation plan typed in plain language, with ARR, quota and payout calculated
Notifications confirming a commission rate change, what reps can see, and that approved deals are untouched
Trust the number, because it isn't a black box

An AI that quietly computes pay is a dispute waiting to happen. Driven keeps the calculation deterministic: the agent builds the plan, it never calculates on its own. The logic sits in a formula layer written in Excel syntax you can read, check and overwrite.

Show reps the maths behind every deal

Reps chase down calculations they can't see, and "why did I earn this?" lands on your desk. Every rep gets a per-deal breakdown of their commission: the deals in the period, the rate applied, and what each one paid, so the calculation explains itself.

Calculate on live CRM data, not a nightly export

Commissions calculated off stale exports drift out of sync the moment a deal changes. Driven reads deal data, owners, pipelines, stages and custom properties from HubSpot or Salesforce in real time. Reps can refresh from the CRM if something hasn't come through yet, so the calculation always reflects what's actually in the pipeline.

How AI-native commission
calculation software works

01 — Setup

Connect HubSpot or Salesforce

Driven is a native connection, not a nightly export. Deal data, owners, pipelines, stages and every custom property become available to the calculation straight away. Slack connects natively too, so payouts, questions and approvals reach reps where they already work.

02 – Building

Tell the agent what to calculate

Name the KPI you want to pay on, then describe the rule in a sentence. The agent writes the logic and finds the CRM properties it needs to calculate against, so you are not mapping fields by hand.

If the rule already exists as a signed contract, paste the whole document instead and let the agent read it. And if a metric doesn't live in your CRM, you can feed it in as a manual KPI and it flows into the calculation the same way.

03 – Human in the loop

Read the logic before it calculates a cent

The agent writes into a formula layer in Excel syntax and flags anything that looks wrong. Correct a cell by hand, or hand it back to the agent, whichever is faster. The maths underneath is deterministic: the agent builds the plan, it never calculates the payout. You can always trace why a rep earned a given amount on a given deal.

04 – Deployment

Publish, and every payout calculates itself

One action calculates every rep's commission across current and past periods at once. The same publish also populates the statements, dashboards, a wiki that answers questions about the calculation, and a flowchart of the logic.

Then you invite the team, and they are live.

05 – Execution

The calculation runs without you

From here your reps see their commission calculated in real time. They ask what to close next and get the maths shown back to them, get Slack nudges as a threshold comes into reach, weekly recaps of what they earned, and a forecast calculated from their live pipeline.

06 – Immediate updates

Change the rule and every payout recalculates

Prompt the change and republish, and every affected payout recalculates at once – the wiki and flowchart update alongside, so reps see the new numbers the same day. Payouts you have already approved stay locked, so nothing already paid can move.

CALCULATION COVERAGE

Whatever the commission rule, Driven calculates it

If you can describe the rule, the engine can calculate it. Teams calculate all of this on Driven today:
Tiered rates and accelerators

The applied rate changes the moment a rep crosses a threshold, such as 5% on every deal once a 100K quota is hit.

Quota- and OTE-derived rates

Calculate against a fixed quota, or derive the percentage from each rep's variable salary and target.

Split and shared commissions

One deal calculated separately for a BDR, an AE and a CS, each with their own share.

Manual-KPI inputs

A metric that doesn't live in your CRM fed in directly and calculated the same way.

Multi-currency conversion

Deals and reps across currencies converted to the payout currency, with the rate configurable per period.

Non-ARR revenue

Services, one-time purchases or events computed as their own line, at their own rate.

Period and cadence timing

The same rule computed correctly whether you pay monthly, quarterly or annually, on your own fiscal calendar.

Built for the people who own the comp plan

For RevOps

Calculate every commission automatically on live CRM data, keep that data clean because the payout depends on it, and let the agent field rep questions so you don't have to.

For Sales Leaders

Every rep's commission is calculated live and broken down deal by deal, so the number is one they can see and check for themselves instead of one they contest.

For Finance Leaders

Review and approve calculated payouts instead of rebuilding spreadsheets, with a locked approval flow, automated clawbacks and true-ups, and deterministic maths that's audit-ready by default.

Clawbacks, currency, and the deal that changed after payday

A deal value changes after you've paid

You can add clawback logic and the recalculation appears on the next statement, itemised, with the deal and the reasoning visible to the rep.

You need to adjust a single payout

Exclude a deal, add or remove a line item, or edit an amount directly – as an admin, with the change tracked.

Nothing moves after it's paid

Once a payout is approved and marked paid, it's locked against further CRM changes – corrections happen as a clawback or true-up on the next cycle, never as a silent edit to history.

What is sales commission calculation software?

Sales commission calculation software automates how variable pay is worked out and paid. Instead of rebuilding a spreadsheet each period, it connects to your CRM, applies your commission rules to live deal data, and calculates each rep's payout automatically, with a clear record of how every number was reached. Driven adds an AI layer on top: you describe the rule in plain language and the agent builds the logic, while the underlying calculation stays deterministic and auditable.

What are the benefits of commission calculation software?

It removes the manual work and the errors from commission runs. Payouts are calculated in real time from CRM data instead of weeks after a deal closes, so reps always know where they stand. Admins stop rebuilding spreadsheets and reconciling by hand, finance gets an auditable trail, and disputes drop because every rep can see the maths behind their own number. The result is fewer errors, faster payouts, and more trust in the calculation.

What are the key features to look for in a sales commission calculator?

Look for native, real-time CRM integration rather than nightly exports; support for your actual commission rules (tiered rates, accelerators, splits, SPIFs, per-role plans, multiple cadences and currencies); deterministic, traceable calculation so every payout can be explained down to the deal; an approval flow that locks paid statements against later CRM changes; automated clawbacks and true-ups; rep-facing breakdowns so people can see and forecast their own commission; and fast, low-cost setup without a consulting project. Driven covers each of these.

How does Driven make sure the calculation is accurate?

The calculation is deterministic. The AI builds the plan but never computes the payout, so numbers don't drift between runs. The logic lives in a formula layer in Excel syntax you can read and overwrite, and every payout traces back to a specific deal and rule, so any amount can be explained and audited.

How are clawbacks and recalculations handled?

Add the logic once. If a deal value changes after a rep was paid, the overpayment is recalculated and corrected on their next statement as an itemised clawback; underpayments are trued up the same way. You can also adjust any single payout by hand as an admin.

Can reps see and forecast their own commission?

Yes. Every rep gets a real-time dashboard of commission earned versus target and can ask the agent what they'd earn under any scenario – in the app or in Slack – with a detailed breakdown of the calculation.

How fast does a payout recalculate when a deal or rule changes?

Immediately. A deal moving in the CRM recalculates a draft payout in real time, and changing a rule and republishing recalculates everything at once while the wiki and flowchart update, so reps see the new numbers the same day. Approved payouts stay locked.
